William Nokrek is an indigenous person from Garo (Mandi) Indigenous Community from Bangladesh. He was the first indigenous President of Bangladesh Catholic Students Movement (BCSM) and was elected for 2 terms from 2015 to 2019. He has worked at BCSM for 9 years. He joined with the BCSM in 2010 as a general member. As a BCSM member, he has worked with various organizations, indigenous communities, civil society, and NGOs. He was also President of the Bangladesh Indigenous Students Action Forum (BISAF) from 2017 to 2019. As an indigenous student leader, he has worked with different levels of the government for the rights of indigenous people and advocated for the quota of Indigenous students and youth for the university and civil service. He worked as a journalist for a newspaper for some time and has written articles on social justice and various issues of indigenous peoples and minorities. He graduated in Journalism, communication and media studies from the State University of Bangladesh in 2018.
