Theme: The Role of Students in Global Governance

Description

As students, we must never stop challenging the inequalities and the imbalance of power in our world.  The International Movement of Catholic Students – Pax Romana believes that it is within our reach to bring about change for the better in our globalized world.  In living a spirituality of action modelled by Jesus Christ, Catholic students pursue authentic human development and social justice through action at grassroots, as well as the national and global levels.  We are students.  We are leaders in our own right and we claim ownership of our collective future.  We are stakeholders in what is called “global governance.”

Global governance is about the way in which countries, markets, organisations and peoples relate to one another.  Global governance is not just about the State.  Do people really have a say in what goes on in their own country?  Do student really have an influence in how our countries relate to another?  Who else, other than politicians, help to build up the common good in our society?  What ideas or suggestions do you have about empowering students to bring about change?

Editorial Guidelines

Do you have an opinion about the role of students in global governance?  Is there something you would like to share?  Are you dissatisfied with the results of poor global governance?  We rightly demand our rights, but what about our responsibility?  How do we strengthen our effectiveness?  What solutions do students propose?  This is our opportunity as students and leaders to bring our voices to a global forum.  We invite each and every one of you to make a contribution to the next issue the Forum magazine!

We are in search of your personal or collective stories, stories of the movement, and stories of nations/peoples.  We welcome works in any original form:
